Installation
Bluestone may be installed over cement slab or dry-set in sand.
Thermal or Natural Cleft?
Natural Cleft provides a unique look and will vary in thickness. Thermal Stone is a better quality stone that is flamed to provide a non-slip surface. Since Thermal stone is precision cut, it will be easier to install.
Thermal Bluestone
Thermaled stone is the best quality Bluestone. Solid Bluestone blocks are cut with saws to create a square, true gauge thickness stone. Installation is easier with the Thermaled stone because of its uniform cut. The top of the stone is thermaled with heat to provide a natural non-slip surface.
Thickness: 1 inch or 1.5-inch Thermal pattern
Color: Available in blue or full-color
Natural Cleft
To reveal the natural cleft, the cubes are split by hand with a chisel revealing the natural beauty of the stone.
Thickness: Natural cleft varies in thickness since it splits along natural reeds that form within the cubes.
1″ Thickness – Varies from 3/4″ to 1 1/8″ to 1 1/4″
1.5″ Thickness – Varies from 1 1/8″ to 1 1/4″ to 1 3/4″, possibly up to 2″
Color: Ranges from all blue to full-color, which is a mix of blue/gray, browns, greens, rust & lilac. The different colors, textures, and natural cleft surface make the stone very unique.
